After beginning his career in general dental practice in London, Diarmaid progressed to hospital-based training and began focusing on advanced implantology and restorative procedures. He holds two prestigious postgraduate degrees:
- MSc in Dental Implants from King’s College London (Guy’s Hospital) – 2007
- MSc in Restorative Dentistry from University College London (Eastman Dental Institute) – 2011
In recognition of his clinical excellence and contribution to dental education, Diarmaid was awarded a Fellowship from the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (FGDP) in 2012. He has worked for over 10 years as a part-time tutor on the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry, and also serves as an examiner for the Faculty.
Since 2017, Diarmaid has divided his time between the UK and Ireland, holding the position of Specialist in Restorative Dentistry at the Cork University Dental School and Hospital. His clinical interests span the full spectrum of restorative care, with particular expertise in:
- Dental implant treatment planning and placement
- Complex restorative cases and full-mouth rehabilitation
- Multidisciplinary treatment for challenging dental conditions


Dr. Diarmaid Cronin is a highly experienced restorative and implant dentist, currently based between Cork and London, with over two decades of clinical and academic expertise. A graduate of University College Cork (UCC) in 1999, Diarmaid initially moved to the UK for what he expected to be a short-term opportunity — but stayed for 22 years, building an exceptional career in restorative and implant dentistry.
